CCCE Rebates for Heat Pumps

Central Coast Community Energy offers incentives in the form of rebates to single family residential customers in San Benito, Monterey and Santa Cruz counties who are improving the energy efficiency of their homes by purchasing and installing energy efficient appliances and equipment. Through CCCE’s Electrify Your Home incentives, receive rebates of up to $2,000 for an upgrade electrical panel, up to $2,500 for a  mini split or all electric heating system, and up to $5,300 for Grid-Connected HPWH.

Rebate amounts for eligible upgrades are as follows:

  • Heat Pump Heating & Cooling Systems from Air Source Heat Pump: $1,500-$2,500, rebate based on SEER ratings. Under 16, up to 16, and over 18 SEER
  • Non-Connected Heat Pump Water Heaters: $3,300-$,3800, rebate based on less than 55 gallons or equal/larger than 55 gallons
  • Grid Connected Heat Pump Water Heaters: $4,600-$5,300, rebate based on less than 55 gallons or equal/larger than 55 gallons *Requires multiple tasks completed by customer, not Bellows. See below.
  • Panels and Smart Load Center Upgrades: $2,000

In 2024 there are multiple strict customer steps that customers, not Bellows, must do in order to process your rebate. Read below for instructions. If these steps are not completed at time of sale, we cannot proceed with your rebate processing.

Heat Pump HVAC – Bellows Contract signed after December 6, 2023

Single family incentives of $1,500-$2,500 for new heat pump HVAC systems, dual fuel is NOT allowed. Rebates are tiered based on SEER: $1,500 for under 16 SEER, $2,000 for up to 16 SEER, and $2,500 for over 18 SEER.

  1. Must be a TECH/CCCE-enrolled contractor
  2. Project must be a non-heat pump to heat pump installation, dual fuel not allowed
  3. No new construction, retrofits only.
  4. Equipment must be AHRI matched systems.
  5. Equipment must meet Title 24 code minimum standards.

Heat Pump Water Heaters (HPWH) – Bellows Contracts and TECH T&C forms signed after December 6, 2023

Single family incentives of $3,100-$3,800 for non-connected HPWP and $4,600-$5,300 for Grid connected HPWH systems. Lower rebate is for HPWH up to 55 gallons, the higher rebates for HPWH of 55 gallons and larger

*If steps 5, 6 and 7 are not completed by the customer, Bellows cannot process the rebate, will not provide a refund of processing fee and the rebate will not be paid out. 

  1. Must be a TECH/CCCE-enrolled contractor
  2. Project must be a non-heat pump water heater to heat pump installation
  3. No new construction, retrofits only.
  4. Equipment must meet Title 24 code minimum standards.
  5. To get Grid Connected Rebate: Customer must sign TECH T&C and include their electricity provider, electric meter number, electric account number.
  6. To get Grid Connected Rebate: Customer must enroll in their utility’s demand response program.
  7. To get Grid Connected Rebate: Customer must enroll in and set up their utility’s preferred time of use (TOU) plan.
