In order for your air conditioning system to have cool air to circulate throughout the house, the evaporator coil must be functioning properly. You need fans, motors, and condensers in order to make your AC work, but without cool air, there is no air conditioning. The evaporator coil is responsible for providing that cooled air, which is why it is so important to the AC process.

The Evaporator Coil Process

Evaporator coils are tubes that are filled with liquid refrigerant. When warm air from inside your house is drawn out and passes over the coils, it is absorbed and the liquid refrigerant changes over to a gas. That gas moves through the tubes to a condenser coil, where the warm air from inside the house is released and the gas changes back into a liquid. Then, the liquid moves back to the evaporator coil to begin the warm air extraction process over again. If you need repairs or evaporator coil cleaning in Santa Cruz, Marin, Santa Clara, and Sonoma, call us today.

Are My Coils Working Properly?

Some of the signs that your evaporator coils aren’t performing as they should, include air conditioning systems going on and off intermittently, leaking refrigerant from the coils, strange sounds or odors coming from the AC or miscommunication between your thermostat and the actual temperature in the house. Since the evaporator coil is what delivers the cooled air to your home, any issue where the air isn’t as cool as you’d like it may have started in there. When you notice any of these signs, it’s a good idea to call in your AC specialist to get to the source of the problem.

Risks of DIY Evaporator Coil Repair

It is possible for homeowners to clean their own evaporator coils, but for the vast majority, letting professionals do it is a wiser decision. The cleaning process is often more involved than you’d think, and a professional is trained to find other issues that the typical homeowner might miss. If the technician notices a crack or breaks in the coil, he can perform a quick repair along with the cleaning and get the system working at full capacity. Considering how important your evaporator coil is to your AC system, it only makes sense to leave the evaporator coil repair and evaporator coil cleaning in Santa Cruz, Marin, Santa Clara, and Sonoma to expert technicians.

If your AC system is acting up, it may be your evaporator coil. Call Bellows Plumbing, Heating & Air and we will send a technician to find the source of the problem and provide you with a practical solution by dialing 831-477-7150.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Zach did a fantastic and determined job of conquering our leak from under our crawlspace. Bellows sent someone an hour after I called with a leak report, although it was the end of the day. He diagnosed the issue, got cold water working, and was back the next day with the parts for the hot. Great attitude and fabulous service. Thanks, team bellows!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I give high praise to Bellows for performing three different jobs in succession. First, after being called to have a look, a Bellows troubleshooter recommended we replace our 40-year-old central furnace. We opted to respect his professional judgement. A two-man crew came and got the job done efficiently and with little disturbance. We asked for someone to have a look at our equally old shower valve. A man came to estimate the job then returned to replace it another day. Perfect! We love that we no longer wrestle with the old valve. Last, we asked that someone come to look at our home lighting. A man came to help us formulate a plan. Another two-man crew came and began work. We discussed our needs and minor changes were made to improve our environment further. In every case, we were treated courteously. When they requested permission to make changes, they were forthright and benefitted our environment. A sticking point to me, a retired craftsman, is cleanliness. Every person entering our home was professionally neat and left not the slightest dust for us after they left. I am impressed. Overall, my wife and I spoke with many people from Bellows both in person and on the phone. We would like to stress our perception that in every case, we felt we were working with a family business. That is, we were addressed courteously, and as friends, not simply clients. A few weeks on and we still marvel that we waited so long to do this work. As you see, we're glad we chose Bellows. Thanks!
