At Bellows Plumbing, Heating & Air, we offer routine maintenance checks for your heat pump in your Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Marin County, or Sonoma home. We even offer annual protection plans to simplify the process. Give us a call today to learn more or schedule your heat pump maintenance.

Heat Pump Maintenance Basics

As a homeowner, there are a few things you can do to keep your heat pump happy in between professional maintenance visits. Some of these things include:

Checking air filters monthly
Keeping outdoor debris from building up on the unit
Trimming shrubs so they’re at least 18 inches from the unit
Ensuring the outdoor coils are clean

While all of these things help to keep your heat pump from breaking down, there are other necessary tasks that should be done by a professional to ensure your heat pump is working at optimal efficiency. Things that a professional will do during your annual maintenance check include:

Heat exchanger inspection
Electrical check
Mechanical check
Duct check
Replacement or washing of filters

These are things that are better left to the professionals since most of us aren’t up to par with heat exchanger or electrical knowledge. Heat pump maintenance is a service that can save you a lot of time and stress down the line. For dependable maintenance service, check out some of our protection plans, which include saving big on regular maintenance.

Ready to schedule your heat pump maintenance? Give the experts at Bellows Plumbing, Heating & Air a call today! We’re happy to answer any questions and set up your appointment. Contact us to get started.

Why Is Maintenance Important?

Annual maintenance is essential to extending the life of your heat pump. Maintenance checks ensure that nothing major is broken and if it is, it gets resolved before it causes an even bigger problem. During your maintenance check, we’ll also make sure your unit is running at its optimal efficiency, so you’re not wasting money on a high heating or cooling bill when you don’t have to be. Maintenance is key to making sure your unit lasts as long as it possibly can and that it doesn’t break down when you’re counting on it most. At Bellows Plumbing, Heating & Air, we believe maintenance is an essential part of caring for your heat pump. That’s why we’ve come up with our Annual Home Protection Plans. We’ve designed these plans to save you money on the maintenance visits your heat pump needs! Check them out today and see how you can be saving money while extending the life of your heat pump.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Zach did a fantastic and determined job of conquering our leak from under our crawlspace. Bellows sent someone an hour after I called with a leak report, although it was the end of the day. He diagnosed the issue, got cold water working, and was back the next day with the parts for the hot. Great attitude and fabulous service. Thanks, team bellows!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I give high praise to Bellows for performing three different jobs in succession. First, after being called to have a look, a Bellows troubleshooter recommended we replace our 40-year-old central furnace. We opted to respect his professional judgement. A two-man crew came and got the job done efficiently and with little disturbance. We asked for someone to have a look at our equally old shower valve. A man came to estimate the job then returned to replace it another day. Perfect! We love that we no longer wrestle with the old valve. Last, we asked that someone come to look at our home lighting. A man came to help us formulate a plan. Another two-man crew came and began work. We discussed our needs and minor changes were made to improve our environment further. In every case, we were treated courteously. When they requested permission to make changes, they were forthright and benefitted our environment. A sticking point to me, a retired craftsman, is cleanliness. Every person entering our home was professionally neat and left not the slightest dust for us after they left. I am impressed. Overall, my wife and I spoke with many people from Bellows both in person and on the phone. We would like to stress our perception that in every case, we felt we were working with a family business. That is, we were addressed courteously, and as friends, not simply clients. A few weeks on and we still marvel that we waited so long to do this work. As you see, we're glad we chose Bellows. Thanks!
